It is said that Fa Hsien, a monk who came to Sri Lanka from China to find two Mahayana books, worshiped Buddha’s Footprint. Since then, many pilgrims from Siam have come here to worship Buddha’s Footprint. Later they came to know that there was a Buddha’s Footprint in their country as well.
