The storm brought a large number of ships to the harbor with unusual people. The Sinhalese did not want to take these visitors to the king at once. Even though there was a shorter path to the palace, they took them from a longer path to meet the king. If there is a shorter way to go but if we take a longer way instead of that, we still call it like that is how Portuguese went to Kotte.
