Golden Sickles of Degaldoruwa

A long time ago, a very talented farmer from a village called Amunugama went into a large cave and was amazed to see the golden sickles in it. Every day he took one sickle and cut the grain from it and go back to keep it in the cave. But one day he became more greedy and made a mistake. With this incident, this place got the name Degaldoruwa. Later the king built a temple there. It was also named as Degaldoruwa Raja Maha Viharaya.
